Le centre d’hydrogéologie et de géothermie de l’Université de Neuchâtel (CHYN) met au concours un poste d’
Assistant-doctorant sur le suivi et l’analyses d’injections dans le sous-sol par inclinométrie
Cette recherche s’inscrit dans le développement de projet profond en géothermie ou en stockage du CO2 impliquant des injections de fluides en profondeur. Elle vise à accroître notre capacité de suivi de la réponse du sous-sol lors de ces projets et de mieux caractériser les réservoirs profonds. Dans cette optique, le monitoring de la déformation fine du sous-sol par inclinomètrie constitue approche prometteuse qu’il s’agira de tester et d’évaluer lors de ce projet de recherche.
Exigences
- MSc en sciences de la terre, en génie civil, en physique appliquée ou domaine équivalent.
- Une solide formation scientifique et des connaissances approfondies en mécanique des roches et en caractérisation des réservoirs sont requises.
- Une expérience dans la collecte et l'interprétation de données de terrain constitue un atout.
- De bonnes compétences en communication et de rédaction en anglais sont requises.
- La maîtrise orale du français est un atout.
Le poste est prévu pour une durée d'environ 3 ans et pourra être pourvu par le candidat retenu dès le début de l'année 2027.
Le CHYN offre un environnement de recherche stimulant avec environ 50 collaborateurs. Le candidat aura accès à un ensemble complet d'équipements de terrain et de laboratoire, à du personnel de soutien technique et à des ressources informatiques. Research Assistant and PhD Candidate in Monitoring and Analysis of Subsurface Fluid Injections Using Inclinometry
This research is part of the development of deep geothermal energy and CO₂ storage projects involving the injection of fluids at depth. Its objective is to enhance our ability to monitor subsurface responses during such projects and to improve the characterization of deep reservoirs. In this context, monitoring subtle subsurface deformation using inclinometry represents a potential approach that will be tested and evaluated as part of this research project.
Requirements
- MSc in Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, or an equivalent field.
- A strong scientific background and in-depth knowledge of rock mechanics and reservoir characterization are required.
- Experience in the acquisition and interpretation of field data is considered an asset.
- Strong written communication and scientific writing skills in English are required.
- Proficiency in spoken French is considered an asset.
The position is expected to last approximately three years and may be filled by the successful candidate from the beginning of 2027.
